MAG appoints mobile gaming veterans Louise Carell as Product Lead for New QuizDuel and Måns Wide as Monetization Lead for the entire organization.
Stockholm, Sweden - 9 February 2021 - MAG Interactive announces the hire of two prominent gaming industry figures to leadership positions. Louise Carell joins as Product Lead for New QuizDuel, and Måns Wide will join as Monetization lead for the company. Together they will strengthen MAG's team in both the Stockholm and Brighton studios.
Louise Carell has extensive experience working in the gaming industry. She worked at King for almost 10 years in a variety of roles, including Global Release Manager and Head of Studio in Barcelona. Most recently she was employed at Stockholm-based Embark Studios as Head of Production. At MAG, Carell joins the QuizDuel team as Product Lead.
“MAG was attractive to me as the company is a stable, healthy business with a reasonably large organization which grows organically. They also prioritize the well-being of their staff without compromising team productivity. The flat organization enables fast decision-making, which means that products can move faster in a changing landscape. I believe I can contribute with my experience of data-driven product development, and innovating while maintaining the release rate and quality”, says Louise Carell.
Måns Wide also has a strong background in the mobile gaming industry with expertise in monetization. He was Director of Monetization and Design at the Finnish mobile game studio Rovio, where he contributed to making Angry Birds 2 one of the top 25 best-selling mobile games in the US. Most recently, Wide worked as Game Design Director at Candy Crush Saga at King. Wide joins MAG in May as Monetization lead, a new role within the company. He will be responsible for building and maintaining a broad understanding of product management and monetization design throughout the organization.
“I spoke to old colleagues who currently work at MAG and got a very good impression. I love the kind of games that MAG creates. I also really like small, flat teams and organizations, so I believe I will enjoy myself very much. Hopefully, I will contribute with insights into how creativity and profitability can go hand in hand when working with live products”, says Måns Wide.
“Louise and Måns are fantastic additions to MAG. With their experience and expertise, we strengthen the company with two key roles. Louise's long leadership career at King fits the direction we see for New QuizDuel, while Måns’ proven expertise in monetization will benefit the company as a whole. Many have been fascinated by the journey Angry Birds 2 made from launch to an absolute top game in the world, where Måns was a strong driving force", says Daniel Hasselberg, CEO of MAG Interactive.
“I see the fact that MAG attracts people of this caliber as further proof that our way of working and our strong culture is of long-term value for the company. I look forward to seeing how their experiences can contribute to developing our continued work to deliver world-class social games”, Daniel Hasselberg continues.
