MAG's newest word game continues to grow and develop with launch of new social features
Stockholm, Sweden - 23 April 2020 - MAG Interactive today announces that the company's newest word game Wordzee passed 1 million downloads just over four months after its global release and continues to grow steadily.
Wordzee is MAG's latest social word game, whose original game mechanics combine luck and skill with inspiration from the classic dice game Yatzy. Developed in MAG’s Brighton studio, Wordzee was globally released at the end of November 2019. The game has since then reached top ten in the word game category in 115 countries on the App Store and Google Play.
“Reaching 1 million downloads was definitely a great moment for the team. We have created a strong product that showed great potential early on. So it's fun to see the game get the traction we had hoped for. Wordzee has a unique game mechanic and it's really rewarding to see that our work has paid off”, says Greg Sue, Product Lead for Wordzee.
A strong appeal for players has been the social aspect of challenging their friends. Continued increases in player-to-player interaction have been prioritized by the game team, culminating in the launch of a brand new chat feature in Wordzee. Chat features in MAG’s games are something that have seen an increased use lately.
“Social interaction is at the heart of the gaming experience in Wordzee, and interacting with other players is a fundamental building block for long-term player engagement. We listened to our players, so it became obvious to us what we should focus on”, Greg Sue continues.
All games in MAG's current catalog have grown significantly over several years after the initial launch, and have passed over 10 million downloads after being live on the global market for an extended period.
“Wordzee is a game with strong KPIs and great development potential. We look forward to launching more social functions to continue to strengthen our player base”, says Greg Sue.
